The full program of the 10 days desert tour from Marrakech

Day 1: Arrival day – Marrakech

Upon arrival, we will transfer you from Marrakech airport to Riad before starting the 10-day tour from Marrakech, the red city to the Desert of Merzouga with Morocco4x4.

Day 2: Marrakech Sightseeing

On the second day of your tour in Morocco, and after breakfast in your hotel or riad, you will take a guided tour of Marrakech to explore this charming city. You will have several visits: the Menara Gardens, and the Koutoubia Mosque (admission for non-Muslims only). Let yourself deep in the beauty of the Bahia Palace, it was built in 1900 as the most magnificent and largest palace in Morocco: 150 rooms, many richly decorated with floral paintings and sculptures, Several gardens with orange trees, palm trees, pomegranates, etc. A giant courtyard measuring 50 by 30 meters…

Explore the heart of Marrakech “Jemaa-e-Fna Square”, the busiest square where most locals hang out. In the afternoon, the square gets full of Storytellers, Musicians, Snake-charmers,  Traditional Hana makers, Kiosks, Sellers, etc. And at night, you may love to have a coffee on a terrace overlooking the panoramic view of Jamaa El-Fna. Also, you shouldn’t miss strolling the Old Medina, the Jewish Quarter (Mellah) of Marrakech, and to relax in the Majorelle Gardens. Return to your hotel or riad by the end of the day.

Day 3: Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Gorge

You will start from your hotel in Marrakech and drive to the Dades Gorge via the Atlas Pass in the High Atlas Mountains. You will visit the architectural heritage Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Because of its traditional and gorgeous architecture, Ait Ben Haddou was a perfect filming studio for several internationally successful movies such as the Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, Game of Thrones, etc., and the Kasbah of Taurirt in Ouarzazate. Continue to the Dades Gorge, passing through the Valley of Roses and Skoura. Dinner and overnight in Dades Gorge. 

Day 4: Dades Gorge – Toudra Gorge – Erfoud – Rissani – Merzouga Desert

On that day, we travel to Tinghir and visit the Toudra Gorge, where we can walk through the gorge. Departing from Ziz Gorge, we will pass through Rissani, famous for its big Souk (it’s an opportunity for those who want to buy a souvenir), and Erfoud, where we can visit several fossil shops and factories. Continue our tour to the dunes of the Erg Chebbi Desert, where we will take a hotel and spend the night.

Day 5: Merzouga – Rissani – Midelt – Azrou – Fez

After watching the sunrise on camels in Merzouga, we take a shower and have breakfast before setting off on our journey to Fes via the Middle Atlas Mountains road. Visit the bazaar of Rissani (big souk) and cross the Ziz Valley and the Middle Atlas Mountains to reach Midelt, the city of appel. Later, we continue our way and cross the cedar forests of Azrou, stopping to feed the monkeys and take pictures. Passing through Ifrane, the ‘Switzerland of Morocco’, you will arrive in Fez in the early afternoon. Overnight in one of the traditional riads in the medina or in a luxury hotel, according to your interests.

DAY 6: Fes walking tour

After breakfast, a private guided tour to discover Fez, one of the imperial cities in Morocco. Your local guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the most attractions and must-see sights of this ancient city. Visit the golden gates of the Royal Palace, stroll through the Fes E’lbali (Old medina), and see Medrasat El Bou Ananias, Nejarine Fountain, Karawin Mosque, one of the essential Islamic cultural centers and home to Fez University (the oldest university in the world), Moulay Idriss’s Mausoleum is to be discovered. Of course, we cannot forget the Mellah, a Jewish quarter of Fez, the tannery quarter, and the crafts guilds. A delicious free lunch will be served on the day. An overnight stay awaits you.

Day 7: Fes – Chefchaouen

Wake up in the morning to experience one of the best day trips from Fes by heading to Chefchaouen (the blue city). Fes to Chefchaouen is a beautiful journey that will take you through some of the most spectacular scenery in Morocco. You will drive through the fertile valleys and rugged mountains of the Middle Atlas region, passing through small villages and winding your way up to the Rif Mountains. Once you have reached the top of the mountain pass, you will be rewarded with stunning views of Chefchaouen, the “Blue Pearl” of Morocco. As you drive along the winding mountain roads, you will be surrounded by the lush green landscape, dotted with traditional Berber villages. In the distance, you will be able to make out the snow-capped peaks of the Rif Mountains. Along the way, you can stop in one of the local villages to get a glimpse of traditional Rif life. As you descend from the mountains and approach Chefchaouen, you will be surrounded by the brilliant blue-painted walls of the city. Once you enter the medina, you will be able to explore the narrow cobblestone streets and alleyways, filled with vibrant shops and stalls. Be sure to check out the Kasbah, the old fortress, and the impressive Great Mosque. Once you have experienced the beauty of Chefchaouen, the overnight will be in one of the beautiful riads of the city or in a blue-white hotel.

Day 8: Chefchaouen – Rabat

After having a Moroccan traditional meal, you will drive to Rabat. Rabat, the capital city of Morocco, is a charming city full of culture, history, and amazing scenery. It is the perfect place to explore and experience the best of Moroccan life. Upon arrival, you start exploring the old medina and the Kasbah of the Udayas, which is a historic fortress that dates back to the twelfth century. Visit the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, which is the site of the tombs of the former king and his two sons. It is a beautiful and solemn place to reflect and learn about the monarchy of Morocco.

Also, you will explore the Hassan Tower, a minaret that was built in the twelfth century and is considered to be the most important monument in Morocco. After having your lunch, you continue your visits by heading to the Royal Palace and the Chellah, an ancient Roman site full of beautiful gardens. In the evening, it’s preferred to go for walking on the beach before you end the day in the hotel with a delicious dinner.

Day 9: Rabat – Casablanca guided tour

Departing Rabat in the morning through the coastal road enjoy the stunning views until you arrive in Casablanca, the largest city in Morocco. A Casablanca guided tour is the perfect way to experience the beauty and history of this vibrant city. The tour will start in the Old Medina, where you will explore the narrow winding streets of the city’s oldest neighborhood. The next stop is the Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest and most beautiful mosques in the world. Afterward, you will visit the ancient Jewish Quarter and its synagogues and then take a drive through the modern city to see some of the most impressive sights such as the Habous Quarter and the Royal Palace. Finally, you will end your tour at the famous Corniche, a beautiful stretch of beach lined with restaurants and cafes. This tour is an ideal way to get to know the city of Casablanca and its culture. Overnight in a hotel in the center of the city.

Day 10: Casablanca – transfer to the airport

That day will mark your last day in Morocco and the end of the 10-day tour from Casablanca. Our driver will pick you up from the hotel and drop you off at the airport according to your time of leaving.
