Day 1: Arrival day

You will be transferred to your hotel or riad in Fez upon arrival. Depending on your arrival time, a private tour of Fez can be arranged. Return to your room and enjoy dinner.

Day 2: Fez city tour

After breakfast, a private guided tour to discover Fez, one of the imperial cities in Morocco. Your local guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the most attractions and must-see sights of this ancient city. Visit the golden gates of the Royal Palace, stroll through the Fes E’lbali (Old medina), and see Medrasat El Bou Ananias, Nejarine Fountain, Karawin Mosque, one of the most essential Islamic cultural centers and home to Fez University (the oldest university in the world), Moulay Idriss’s Mausoleum is to be discovered. Of course, we cannot forget the Mellah, a Jewish quarter of Fez, the tannery quarter, and the crafts guilds. A delicious free lunch will be served on the day. An overnight stay awaits you.

Day 3: Fez – Meknes – Rabat and Casablanca

On the third day, after breakfast, we continue our tour to the other imperial cities by heading to Meknes, the first imperial capital. Your local guide will show you the impressive medieval walls and gates of Bab el Mansour, the Agdal Pond, and the Moulay Ismail tomb. You will then drive to Rabat, the current imperial capital. In Rabat, you will visit the Royal Palace, the famous Kasbah of Udaya, the Mausoleum of King Mohammed V, the unfinished mosque, and the Tower of Hassan. From Rabat, we head to Casablanca, Morocco’s economic capital and the largest one. Dinner and overnight in a hotel.

Day 4: Casablanca city tour – Marrakech

You will have breakfast at your hotel before you start the tour of Casablanca. In the latter, you will visit the Great Mosque of Hassan II, the most impressive mosque in Morocco. Unlike the old medina, you can enjoy the new medina, which belongs to the Habbus area, during your experience in Casablanca. Here you will find all sorts of fashionable shops. Lovers of contemporary art are advised to visit the Villa des Arts, dedicated to this type of art. To relax, you can always have a Moorish coffee at Sqala, an 18th-century fortified building. From Casablanca, you will take the road to Marrakech. Overnight in Marrakech at one of its beautiful hotels.

Day 5: Private Marrakech city tour

On the sixth day, after breakfast in your hotel or riad, you will take a guided tour of Marrakech to explore this charming city. You will have several visits: 

Koutoubia Mosque: (admission for non-Muslims only): Considered one of the most beautiful monuments in North Africa by some, copied many times for its aesthetic and architectural side by others, the appeal of the Koutoubia Mosque makes it one of the main and emblematic tourist attractions of Marrakech due to its location and its fascinating and captivating aspect, as much for tourists as for Muslims coming to pray there.

The Bahia Palace: The Bahia Palace achieves an exceptional level of sophistication in Islamic architecture. The varied carvings and mosaics will immerse you in 19th-century splendor.

Jemaa-e-Fna Square: you will meet snake charmers, fortune tellers, and henna painters. Near the Qoutubiya minaret, dancers and musicians perform Berber and Moroccan melodies.

The Old Medina: The old town, with its narrow streets and ornate portals leading to the riads, is also attractive with its markets and traditional craft shops.

Majorelle Gardens: This botanical garden is a huge space with lush flora and fauna, surrounded by cobalt blue walls. Take the opportunity to visit the Islamic Museum of Marrakech.

Other visits: The Menara Gardens, and the Jewish Quarter (Mellah) of Marrakech.

Or you can ask for an optional activity of riding a camel in Marrakech which is close to the desert. It is an opportunity to wear traditional clothing and take beautiful photos. Return to your hotel or riad by the end of the day.

Day 6: Marrakech – transfer to the airport

The last day begins with breakfast and, depending on the time of your transfer to Marrakech airport, free time, an optional private tour of Marrakech.

DAY 3: FEZ – MIDELT – MERZOUGA

You start your 6 days tour from Fes with the Morocco4X4 team and depart for the Merzouga desert via Ifrane and the cedar forests of Azrou, home to wild monkeys. This will be an excellent opportunity to take pictures for souvenirs. Lunch in Zaida, a small Berber village. Continue your journey through the Atlas Mountains, enjoying the Midelt landscape, until you reach the capital city of the region Errachidia. From there, you will take the road to the Merzouga desert. Upon arrival, we will check into a hotel for an overnight stay. 

 

DAY 4: ERG CHEBBI 4×4 TOUR – CAMEL RIDES IN THE DESERT AND OVERNIGHT

After breakfast and showers at the hotel, we will go for a journey around the Erg Chebbi dunes, visit one of the Berber families and listen to Gnawa music. We will visit an abandoned mine, Berber nomads, and a palm tree oasis. Return to Merzouga in the late afternoon. After lunch and a relaxing time, we will prepare ourselves for the camel ride. We will attend the breathtaking sunset over the high dunes and spend the night in a camp enjoying the Berber Gnawa music under the starry sky.

 

DAY 5: MERZOUGA – OUARZAZATE

After watching the panoramic sunrise on camels in Merzouga, we take a shower and have breakfast before setting off on our journey to visit the nomadic villages in the region of the desert before leaving for Ouarzazate, known as the African Studio. You will discover this gate of the Sahara and spend the night at one of its hotels.

 

DAY 6: OUARZAZATE – MARRAKECH

After the usual breakfast around 8 am, you will visit the Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, famous for being the location for Hollywood films such as Game of Thrones, Gladiator, and Lawrence of Arabia. Ait Benhaddou also is a UNESCO world heritage site. Later, you will cross the Tizi-n-Tichka pass, the highest pass in Morocco, and maybe in the whole of Africa to reach the red city of Marrakech. Here our services end and we will transfer you to the airport.
