Day 1: Arrival day – Marrakech

8-day tour trip from Marrakech, the red city to the Desert of Merzouga with Morocco4x4. Transfer from Marrakech airport to Riad.

Day 2: Marrakech Sightseeing

On the second day of your tour in Morocco, and after breakfast in your hotel or riad, you will take a guided tour of Marrakech to explore this charming city. You will have several visits: the Menara Gardens, and the Koutoubia Mosque (admission for non-Muslims only). Let yourself deep in the beauty of the Bahia Palace, it was built in 1900 as the most magnificent and largest palace in Morocco: 150 rooms, many richly decorated with floral paintings and sculptures, Several gardens with orange trees, palm trees, pomegranates, etc. A giant courtyard measuring 50 by 30 meters…

Explore the heart of Marrakech “Jemaa-e-Fna Square”, the busiest square where most of the locals hung out. In the afternoon, the square gets full of Storytellers, Musicians, Snake-charmers,  Traditional Hana makers, Kiosks, Sellers, etc. And at night, you may love to have a coffee on a terrace overlooking the panoramic view of Jamaa El-Fna. Also, you shouldn’t miss strolling the Old Medina, the Jewish Quarter (Mellah) of Marrakech, and to relax in the Majorelle Gardens. Return to your hotel or riad by the end of the day.

Day 3: Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Gorge

You will start from your hotel in Marrakech and drive to the Dades Gorge via the Atlas Pass in the High Atlas Mountains. You will visit the architectural heritage Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Because of its traditional and gorgeous architecture, Ait Ben Haddou was a perfect filming studio for several internationally successful movies such as the Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, Game of Thrones, etc., and the Kasbah of Taurirt in Ouarzazate. Continue to the Dades Gorge, passing through the Valley of Roses and Skoura. Dinner and overnight in Dades Gorge.

Day 4: Dades Gorge – Toudra Gorge – Erfoud – Rissani – Merzouga Desert

On that day, we travel to Tinghir and visit the Toudra Gorge, where we can walk through the gorge. Departing from Ziz Gorge, we will pass through Rissani, famous for its big Souk (it’s an opportunity for those who want to buy a souvenir), and Erfoud, where we can visit several fossil shops and factories. Continue our tour to the dunes of the Erg Chebbi Desert, where we will take a hotel and spend the night.

Day 5: Merzouga

After breakfast in a riad in Merzouga, continue with a private excursion to explore the desert area and visit the ‘khamliya Negro Village’. We will get to know their music and traditions. We then meet a nomadic family living in tents in the desert and have lunch with Berber pizza, a traditional Berber dish. Return to Merzouga, from where you will take a camel ride for 1h30min across the dunes with an experienced guide. Arrive at Desert Camp and enjoy sunbathing on the dunes, and admire the charming sunset before dining in a traditional camp. At night, you will have a campfire and enjoy the traditional Gnawa music under the charming starry sky. 

Day 6: Merzouga – Agdez – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate

The journey continues. Watch the breathtaking sunrise over the dunes, then take a camel ride to your riad for a refresher. From Merzouga, continue your journey through Morocco by 4X4, passing through Alnif, Tazarine, and Nqob. We continue over the Draa Valley to Ouarzazate. It’s also known as the African Studio where several international movies were shot such as Kingdom of Heaven, The Mummy, Game of Thrones, etc. Tonight we stop at the Riad Hotel for dinner and a traditional Moroccan breakfast the next morning.

Day 7: Ouarzazate – Tizi Ntichka Pass – Marrakech

After breakfast, continue your private tour of Marrakech through the spectacular High Atlas Mountains. Visit the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou and the Kasbah of Telouet, and then through the Tizi Ntichka mountain, you will arrive in Marrakech. We will spend the night in a traditional riad/hotel in Marrakech, with dinner.

Day 8: Marrakech – Transfer to the airport.
